Talent Photo Tips
Over the years, Kyle Zimmerman Photography has discovered a few talent photography tips
that will help you get the most out of your photo session:
- For actors, remember…your shot needs to look like you look! ‘THEY’ need to know your coloring, your hair length AND that your eyes are a bit uneven too! They may be looking for a girl with a crooked smile, someone JUST LIKE YOU!
- For portfolio shots, keep it simple…don’t wear outfits or jewelry that define you personally.
- If you’re not sure what to wear, bring a couple of options to choose from and we’ll help you decide.
- Think about your audience and the purpose for these shots and be ready to explain to us any nuances: Is this for a portfolio? A program brochure? An article? A poster? Some combination? What is your goal in using these photos?
- Let go of your pre-conceived ideas of how you should “pose.” Let us help you create the most effective shots to achieve your stated purpose.
- Allow us to help you reveal what is special and unique about YOU. Even though you will be playing a role, it is what is special about YOU that allows you to play this role well.
- Most important, relax and enjoy your session. This is an opportunity to “play” at achieving different effects and looks. You are a professional! Let it roll and come naturally.
